What is Kingdom Purpose?

Episode Summary:
In this powerful second episode of the Joy Inspired podcast, Nikki Cruise dives into the heart of what it means to embrace your Kingdom Purpose in business. Nikki shares how aligning your business and life with God’s divine calling transforms not just your work, but your heart. Whether you’re unsure of your purpose or seeking to deepen your understanding of God’s plans for your life, this episode offers practical steps and spiritual wisdom to help you move forward with faith, courage, and joy.

Key Points Discussed:

What is Kingdom Purpose?

  •  Your Kingdom Purpose is the unique way God has designed you to glorify Him and advance His kingdom.
  • It’s not about perfection or selling faith-based products—it’s about aligning your gifts and work with eternal impact.
  • Key Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11—"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord."

Barriers to Discovering Your Purpose

  •  Overcoming comparison: God created you to be uniquely you (Psalm 139:14).
  • Breaking through fears of inadequacy: God equips those He calls.
  • Understanding that purpose unfolds step by step—it's not an overnight revelation.

Practical Steps to Discover Your Kingdom Purpose:

Seek God through Prayer and Scripture

  • Spend intentional time in prayer, asking God to reveal His plans for you.
  • Dive into verses about purpose, like Ephesians 2:10—"We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works."

                  Identify Your Gifts and Passions

  • Reflect on what brings you joy, what you’re naturally good at, and what others often compliment you on.
  • Recognize these as clues to your purpose.

                  Reflect on Life Experiences

  • God uses your past challenges and victories to prepare you for your calling (Romans 8:28).
  • Your unique story can be a tool to bless others and glorify God.

                 Take Action in Faith

  • Begin where you are with what you have. Trust God to guide your steps (James 2:26).

Signs You’re Living in Your Kingdom Purpose:

  •  A deep sense of joy and peace, even during challenges.
  • Witnessing God’s hand in your work as doors open and resources align.
  • Seeing your work bless others and create a Kingdom impact.
  • Trusting God’s timing and promises instead of striving and chasing.

The Transformation of Heart and Business

  •  Aligning your business with God’s purpose transforms both your work and your heart.
  • Embracing your Kingdom Purpose is about surrender and trust, not perfection.
  • Key Scripture: Ephesians 4:1—"Live a life worthy of the calling you have received."

Memorable Quotes:

  • “God is the ultimate architect, and your Kingdom Purpose is the blueprint.”
  • “Your purpose isn’t something you earn; it’s something you walk into step by step.”
  • “You were created for a specific purpose that only you can fulfill.”

Happy Resurrection Day, beautiful friends!
He is Risen — and because He rose, so can you.

Whatever it is, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in YOU. (Romans 8:11)

Let joy rise.

 Let purpose rise.
You are not buried — you are being planted for a glorious resurrection!

Let’s celebrate today with full hearts, open hands, and grateful souls.

Andrew: The Unsung Hero of Resilient Faith
Andrew: The Unsung Hero of Resilient Faith

Let’s talk about Andrew.......You know, Peter’s brother.

That’s how most people know him. He doesn’t get flashy stories like Peter walking on water (Matthew 14:29) or doubting like Thomas (John 20:24-29). He doesn’t have a cool nickname like James and John, the “Sons of Thunder” (Mark 3:17). Nope. Andrew is just… Andrew.

But don’t let his low profile fool you—Andrew was resilient in ways that often go unnoticed. He wasn’t about the spotlight. He didn’t need fame. He was quietly consistent, faithfully bringing people to Jesus, even when no one gave him credit.

And honestly? That’s the kind of resilience that changes the world.

Andrew’s Big Moment (That Nobody Talks About)

You know who introduced Peter—the loud, bold, future leader of the church—to Jesus?.....Andrew.  Yep. That moment in John 1:41-42, when Peter meets Jesus for the first time? Andrew made that happen.

Andrew met Jesus first. He saw something incredible and immediately went to find his brother Peter and said, “We have found the Messiah!” Then he personally brought Peter to Jesus. And that was it.No parade. No recognition. No award for “Disciple of the Year.” Andrew simply connected people to Jesus and stepped back, letting God take it from there.

Resilience in the Shadows

Andrew teaches us that true resilience isn’t about being seen—it’s about being faithful.  Some people struggle when they don’t get noticed. They feel like they need a title, a platform, or recognition to feel valuable.  Not Andrew. He wasn’t competing with Peter for leadership. He wasn’t trying to prove himself. He was just faithful in bringing people to Jesus.

And he didn’t stop with Peter.

  • In John 6:8-9, when thousands of people needed food, Andrew found the boy with the five loaves and two fish and brought him to Jesus.
  • In John 12:20-22, when some Greeks wanted to meet Jesus, Andrew made the introduction.

Andrew’s entire ministry was about connecting people to Jesus. He wasn’t the miracle worker. He wasn’t the main speaker. But he was the bridge that led people to Christ. That’s resilience—serving even when no one sees.

What Can We Learn from Andrew?

1. Resilient Faith Serves Without Needing Credit

Andrew didn’t need to be front and center. He didn’t keep score of who got the most recognition. He just served. In a world obsessed with likes, follows, and applause, Andrew’s faithfulness reminds us: Kingdom impact isn’t measured in visibility, but in obedience.

"Whoever wants to be great must be a servant." (Mark 10:43)

2. Resilience is Found in Small, Consistent Acts

Andrew didn’t perform miracles or write a Gospel. But his small, faithful actions led to world-changing results.  Never underestimate the power of small, faithful acts of obedience.

"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9)

3. Resilient People Focus on Their Mission, Not Comparison

Andrew could have been bitter. He could have said, “Why does Peter get all the attention? I introduced him to Jesus!”  But he didn’t. He wasn’t competing with Peter—he was focused on his own calling.  Your calling is yours. Stay in your lane. Run your race. Keep showing up, even if no one notices.

"His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’" (Matthew 25:23)

Are You Resilient Like Andrew? Let’s be real—most of us want some kind of recognition. We want to know our work matters. And guess what? It does. Even if no one on earth sees it, God does. Andrew’s life teaches us that faithfulness is greater than fame. So maybe you’re not in the spotlight. Maybe your name isn’t known. Maybe you feel unseen. God sees you.

Your faithfulness matters.

Your small acts of obedience are changing lives in ways you can’t even imagine.

So keep going. Keep serving. Keep showing up. Because sometimes, the most resilient faith is the one that simply refuses to quit.

Will you serve like Andrew today?

The Bounce-Back Queen
The Bounce-Back Queen

They said I’d break, they said I’d fall,
Like shattered glass against the wall.
But watch me now—just take a seat,
I rise like bread, I land on my feet.

Storms may roar and winds may bend,
But honey, I’ve got time to mend.
 I twist, I turn, I roll, I weave,
I dust off doubt and dare believe.

Like rubber bands and trampoline springs,
I stretch, I snap, I do great things.
Not cracked, not torn, not worn or weak,
I speak in sparks; my flames don’t shrink.

Oh, life may try to dim my glow,
To trip me up, to steal my show—
But I’m no wilted, weeping rose,
I bloom through cracks in concrete roads.

So bring the waves, the howls, the hail,
The detours set to make me fail.
I’ll dance through fire, I’ll waltz through pain,
And rise, and rise, and rise again.

James, Son of Zebedee: Resilient in the Face of Persecution
James, Son of Zebedee: Resilient in the Face of Persecution

Have you ever been in a situation where standing up for your faith felt risky? Maybe it wasn’t life or death, but you knew speaking about Jesus could cost you something—your reputation, a friendship, or maybe even an opportunity.

If so, James, son of Zebedee, gets you.

James wasn’t just bold—he was unshakable. He wasn’t afraid to speak up. And when persecution hit, he didn’t waver. He was the first disciple to be martyred (Acts 12:2), and that fact alone tells us something: he never backed down. He never quit. He stayed faithful even when his faith cost him everything.

James teaches us what real resilience looks like—standing firm when everything around you tries to knock you down.

The Fiery Passion of James

Before we talk about James’ ultimate test of faith, let’s rewind a little: James wasn’t just any disciple. He was one of Jesus’ inner circle—the elite trio of Peter, James, and John. These three witnessed things most others didn’t: Jesus' Transfiguration (Mark 9:2-3), the raising of Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:37), and Jesus’ agony in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-37).
James and his brother John even had a nickname—the "Sons of Thunder" (Mark 3:17). Now, when Jesus gives you a nickname like that, you know you’ve got a fiery personality. James was passionate, loud, and bold.

Case in point: in Luke 9:54, James and John saw a Samaritan village reject Jesus, and they immediately asked, “Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to destroy them?” 😳

(Yeah… Jesus shut that down real quick.)

But James wasn’t just about talk. He was all in. And when Jesus said, “Take up your cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24), James took it literally—right to his execution.

James’ Moment of Truth

In Acts 12:1-2, King Herod Agrippa I decided he wanted to make an example of the early church. His first move? Arrest James. And then, without warning, Herod executed James by the sword. Just like that. No trial. No delay. Can you imagine the pressure James must have felt? He could have denied Jesus. He could have begged for his life.

But he didn’t.

James stood firm. He didn’t flinch in the face of death.  And here’s what’s amazing—his death didn’t weaken the church. It strengthened it. His resilience sparked more courage, more faith, and more commitment among believers who saw his sacrifice. According to some historical sources, his executioner was so moved by James’ fearlessness and faith that he repented and was executed alongside him. Talk about a ripple effect.

What Can We Learn from James?

1. Resilience Means Standing Firm Under Pressure

James didn’t back down, even when it cost him his life. Most of us won’t face execution for our faith, but we will face pressure. Pressure to stay silent. Pressure to compromise. Pressure to blend in.
"Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Resilience is standing firm no matter what.

2. Resilient Faith Isn’t About Avoiding Hardship—It’s About Enduring Through It

Let’s be real—no one wants to suffer. But James shows us that faith isn’t about escaping hard times; it’s about staying faithful through them.
"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul." (Matthew 10:28) James knew his body could be destroyed, but his faith? His soul? Untouchable.

3. Your Resilience Can Inspire Others

James’ death didn’t cause fear—it caused revival. The early church grew stronger because of his example.

And today? His story is still inspiring believers to stand firm, no matter the cost. "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life." (James 1:12) Your faith, your resilience, your commitment to standing strong has a ripple effect on the people around you.

Are You Living with Resilient Faith?

James’ story forces us to ask the tough questions:

  • Am I standing firm in my faith, or am I easily shaken?
  • Do I avoid talking about Jesus because I fear what others will think?
  • Do I let hardships push me away from God, or do I let them strengthen my faith?

James’ life wasn’t long, but it was powerful. And his resilience speaks to us today.

The truth is, resilience isn’t about surviving—it’s about standing.

It’s about choosing faith over fear. Strength over surrender. Endurance over escape.

🔥 So, will you stand firm like James today?

John’s Resilience: Choosing Love in the Face of Persecution
John’s Resilience: Choosing Love in the Face of Persecution

Have you ever felt like life just kept throwing obstacles your way? Like no matter how strong your faith is, the trials keep piling up? If so, you’re not alone—John, the beloved disciple, knew that struggle well. But instead of breaking under the weight of suffering, he chose resilience. His story is one of love, endurance, and unwavering faith, even when everything seemed against him.

Losing His Brother—A Heartbreaking Moment

Imagine walking alongside Jesus, sharing profound moments of revelation, only to witness your own brother lose his life for that very faith. That’s exactly what John experienced. He and his brother James were among Jesus’ closest disciples, but then came the unthinkable—James was martyred (Acts 12:2). Can you imagine the grief? The temptation to question everything? John could have let his heartbreak lead him into bitterness or fear, but instead, it deepened his commitment. His loss became a turning point—one that refined his faith rather than crushing it.

Exiled but Not Defeated

Now, picture yourself completely cut off from your home, your friends, and the world you once knew. How would you handle that kind of isolation? That was John’s reality when he was exiled to the desolate island of Patmos. Alone and removed from his community, he could have given in to despair. But instead, God used that season of solitude to birth something extraordinary—the Book of Revelation. Isn’t it amazing how sometimes the very places we feel most abandoned are where God speaks to us the loudest?

Loving Through the Pain

Even in the darkest moments, John’s life was marked by love. Think about the day Jesus was crucified—his closest friends had scattered, fear gripping them. But John stayed. And in that agonizing moment, Jesus looked at him and entrusted him with something deeply personal: the care of His own mother, Mary (John 19:26-27). Can you imagine being given such a responsibility while standing in the shadow of your deepest sorrow? Yet John accepted the call. His love wasn’t just words—it was action, even when it hurt.

A Legacy That Still Speaks Today

John didn’t just survive hardship; he thrived in faith. His Gospel, his letters, and Revelation all point to one central truth: love and truth endure. His message? That even when trials come, even when the world rejects you, love remains the greatest force.

And here’s something remarkable—while every other apostle was martyred, John lived to old age. Maybe this was God’s way of showing us that a life anchored in faith and love can outlast the fiercest storms.

What About You?

John’s story isn’t just history—it’s a mirror. What trials are you facing right now? Do you feel like giving up? His life reminds us that resilience isn’t about escaping suffering; it’s about walking through it with faith, knowing that God can turn even exile into revelation, even grief into purpose.

So, what will your response be when challenges come? Will you let them shake your faith, or will you stand firm, trusting that God is working even in the pain? Like John, you have a choice—to let hardships define you or to let them refine you.

Your story isn’t over yet. Keep choosing faith. Keep choosing love. Your resilience will leave a legacy, just like his did.

Peter – Resilient Through Failure and Redemption
Peter – Resilient Through Failure and Redemption

The Moment of Denial – A Test of Loyalty

In the quiet but charged atmosphere of that fateful night, Peter, a disciple who was renowned for his fierce loyalty, faced his darkest hour. Just hours earlier, he had assured Jesus of his unwavering support. As they dined together, Peter's words were bold: "Even if all fall away, I will not" (Mark 14:29). Yet, as shadows crept across Jerusalem, so did Peter's fear.

In the courtyard, as Jesus was led away by the guards, Peter remained on the fringes, lurking in the background. The crackle of a fire flickered, illuminating faces half-hidden by the night. A servant girl, spotting Peter, exclaimed, "You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus." The air hung heavy with anticipation. Yet, three times, Peter denied knowing his Friend, his Teacher. Here was a man at the precipice of his own integrity, swayed not by malice but by fear.

Have you experienced the fear that swallowed your resolve? - i certainly have.
And there is always Redemption

 Returning Stronger

In the early light of dawn, Peter was a man distraught, haunted by the crow of the rooster signaling the realization of his earlier denials. His heart shattered under the weight of regret, yet Peter's story was far from over. From the ashes of his confession, a transformation began.

After witnessing the resurrected Christ, Peter stepped into a new calling. He became the passionate preacher at Pentecost, the man through whom thousands would come to know salvation (Acts 2:14-41). His sermon was not just words but a manifesto of resilience and redemption, signaling that failure does not mark the end, but a possible beginning for renewed strength.

Will you stay devastated or come back stronger like Peter did?

Facing Persecution – The Steadfast Leader

As the church began to rapidly grow, persecution was never far behind. Peter’s journey was fraught with trials, including imprisonment under Herod's orders (Acts 12:1-19). Yet, his spirit remained unbroken, a testament to his internal metamorphosis from the denial’s despair to unwavering faith.

Within prison walls, Peter's captors saw only a man bound by chains, but those who truly knew his heart saw a leader untainted by fear. Released by divine intervention, his teachings echoed throughout the church. Despite the lurking shadows of danger, Peter stood firm, a shepherd leading his flock through tumultuous times.

Sacrifice – The Journey’s End

Peter’s life crescendoed in a significant sacrifice. We learn of his crucifixion, requesting to be hung upside down, a final act of humility and devotion to his master. In his martyrdom, Peter’s legacy was sealed, not as one defined by his past failures but by his resilient spirit and his devotion to Christ's mission.

His journey reminds us that resilience is born from the embrace of our failures, transformed into a steely resolve to rise again, each time stronger and more fervent. Peter’s story continues to inspire faith-filled resilience, a beacon of strength for the church and a testament to the power of redemption.

In Peter, we find encouragement: that even in our darkest times, we too can get back up, fortified by the assurance that redemption is always within reach. Amidst your own trials, remember: resilience is a journey, one that transforms even the greatest errors into stepping stones towards triumph.

Faith-Filled Resilience

The disciples weren’t perfect, and that’s exactly why their stories encourage us. They messed up, doubted, overreacted, and even fell asleep when they were supposed to pray (looking at you, Peter, James, and John in Gethsemane 😴). But through it all, they got back up, grew stronger, and kept walking with Jesus.

Resilience isn’t about perfection. It’s about trusting God enough to keep going.

So, if you’ve ever felt like you’re sinking, doubting, or just plain exhausted—you’re in good company. Keep pressing forward, laugh a little at your own humanity, and remember: God’s grace is bigger than your mistakes. 💜🙌

The Joyful Journey of Discipline for Christian Entrepreneurs
The Joyful Journey of Discipline for Christian Entrepreneurs

The Joyful Journey of Discipline for Christian Entrepreneurs

Hey there, fellow Christian business buffs! Let’s dive into a topic as essential as coffee on Monday morning: discipline. Yep, discipline—because without it, your faith might wobble like a three-legged chair. Let's explore why keeping it steady is key, with a sprinkle of humor to keep things light:

1. Prayer: The Ultimate Zoom Call with God

Just like your daily rendezvous with caffeine, making time for prayer isn’t negotiable. It keeps your spiritual WiFi signal strong and clear, so you don’t miss divine instructions while scrolling through endless email threads.

2. Ethics: More Than Just a Fancy Word

Sure, making deals can be as thrilling as finding extra fries at the bottom of the bag, but discipline ensures you’re making the right choices. Tempted to dodge taxes like dodging Legos in the dark? Discipline and ethics to the rescue, keeping you on the moral high ground.

3. Resilience: Your Business’ Version of a Personal Trainer

Being an entrepreneur is a bit like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. Discipline is what helps you scream into the void with grace and still look out for divine signs when things go south, like on the wayward rollercoaster dips.

4. Purpose: The North Star That’s Actually South Most of the Time

It's easy to get lost in the grind and forget why you started. Discipline nudges you to not just chase profits faster than you chase the ice cream truck, but also to remember your bigger mission.

5. Community Spirit: Building the Avengers of Faith and Fun

Networking with other Christian entrepreneurs is like creating your own support group—everyone’s in the same boat, just different sizes! Discipline ensures you’re calling in the troops regularly for moral support, brainstorming, and maybe some good old gospel karaoke sessions.

So, dear entrepreneurs, infusing your business journey with a pinch of discipline and a dash of humor can actually turn the challenging path of entrepreneurship into a joy-filled adventure. Keep the faith, and remember: Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a solid business—unless you’ve got an express pass from above!

Understanding Your Value and Self-Worth: Crucial Elements of Resilience and Resilient Faith

In our journey through life, challenges are inevitable. However, our ability to face these challenges head-on and emerge stronger hinges significantly on understanding our value and self-worth. These concepts are not just abstract ideas; they are foundational components that fortify our resilience and deepen our faith, enabling us to navigate adversity with courage and confidence.

The Interconnectedness of Self-Worth and Resilience

Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, a crucial trait that allows us to persist even when the going gets tough. Knowing your value is fundamental to developing this resilience. When you recognize your self-worth, you are more inclined to set healthy boundaries, engage in self-care, and seek out supportive relationships—all of which bolster your resilience.

In moments of hardship, understanding your intrinsic value can act as a shield. It instills a sense of stability, reminding you that setbacks do not define you. This awareness creates a mental framework where challenges are viewed as opportunities for growth rather than insurmountable obstacles.

Resilient Faith: Peace in the Storms of Life

Life often feels like a storm, with challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties swirling around us. But as followers of Christ, we can hold onto a peace that surpasses all understanding, even when the winds rage and the waves crash.

Jesus reminds us of this truth in John 16:33 (NIV):
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

When we anchor our faith in Him, the storms may come, but they will not sink us. Resilient faith isn't about avoiding difficulties; it’s about trusting God to walk with us through them, calming our hearts even if the storm around us remains.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) assures us:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

No matter what storm you’re facing, remember:

  •  God is with you: His presence strengthens you.
  •  God is in control: He speaks peace to the chaos.
  •  God is your anchor: His promises hold steady when all else feels shaky.

Take a moment today to pause, pray, and give your storm to God. His peace is available to you now—calming your spirit, guiding your steps, and reminding you that He’s already won the victory.

What storms are you trusting God through today?
