A Stetson-Educated Advocate for the American Dre
Immigration concerns can arise in various legal fields, from family and criminal law to employment and estate planning. Attorneys who can identify potential immigration issues can better serve their clients and ensure they receive proper legal guidance. This course equips non-immigration attorneys with the skills to recognize and address immigration-related concerns in their practice.
Participants will learn to:
• Identify common immigration issues in family law, criminal defense, and employment cases.
• Understand the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, including deportability and inadmissibility.
• Recognize the impact of marriage, divorce, or custody disputes on immigration status.
• Address immigration-related employment concerns, such as work authorization and compliance.
• Make informed referrals to immigration attorneys when necessary.
By integrating immigration issue-spotting into their practice, attorneys can help clients avoid unintended legal consequences, navigate complex immigration laws, and access the support they need to maintain lawful status in the United States.
