**Meet Elizabeth:**

I grew up primarily on the West Coast, with time spent in Biloxi, Mississippi where I got pregnant with my first born son. My journey has been tumultuous, shaped by strong guidance and personal challenges. Despite relapsing on drugs and alcohol, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2008, and will be celebrating 32 years of sobriety as of May 25th, 2025.

I have worked in law firms, Behavioral Health Departments @ Sharp Hospital in San Diego, worked with State and Federal Mental Health Agencies, co-created nonprofits to help homeless veterans & women with children, and have grown several companies into major expansions. Each time I relapsed I came back stronger and stronger.

I love the saying, "Life is what you do with Plan B". Through our podcast, I aim to share stories and insights that help you embrace yourself, reduce self-stigmatization, and ultimately lead a more purposeful & joyful life.

My goal is to empower people globally: To wake up in the morning excited to be alive, and at peace with your BEing and share your "U" everywhere you go, magically.

**Meet Dr. Monica:**

Dr. Monica, originally from Texas, brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to our podcast. Her passion also lies in presenting guests who can help you explore innovative ways to heal and thrive. Growing up as an African-American woman in a challenging environment, Dr. Monica faced significant discrimination. Her experiences fuel our commitment to fostering understanding and equality.

She has been interviewed by San Diego news outlets and NPR, where she has discussed topics such as addiction, suicide in the Black community, and trauma. A sought-after speaker, she brings expertise in addiction and recovery, the therapeutic challenges faced by the Black Diaspora, and other mental wellness topics. She is also an active member of the Association of Black Psychologists, the San Diego Psychological Association, and Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.; and offers valuable insights on how to flourish as an Auntie-Mom.
