FAMILY GAME NIGHT: THE MYSTERY SCAVENGER HUNT EDITION!

Tonight's featured game idea is perfect for ALL ages and gets everyone moving! We call it "Mystery Detective Hunt" in our house, and it's been a hit from toddlers to teens.
🔍 HOW TO PLAY:
- Hide 5-10 common household items in plain sight around one room
- Take a photo of each item in its hiding spot
- Show players the photos one at a time
- Everyone searches for the item in the photo
- The person who finds it gets to pick the next photo to show!
🌟 Age Modifications:
- Toddlers/Preschoolers: Use their own toys as items, give "hot/cold" clues
- Elementary Kids: Add riddles as clues with the photos
- Teens: Let them set up the hunt and take the photos (they love making it challenging!)
- Mixed Ages: Team up older and younger kids as "detective partners"
✨ Pro Tips:
- Keep items at eye level for little ones
- Use your phone's photo album to display pictures on the TV if you have that capability
- Set a timer for each item to add excitement
- Award points for finds and let the winning "detective" pick dessert!
Last night we hid:
- Dad's coffee mug behind the curtain
- Sister's hairbrush on the bookshelf
- Brother's water bottle under the coffee table
- Mom's reading glasses on top of the TV
- The TV remote in plain sight (this one stumped everyone! 😆)
🎯 Bonus Challenge: For older kids, let them write down WHERE they found each item - turns it into a memory game too!
