New Course by Akey Ahiem Unwavering Faith A lifetime of Service

Haunted by my father’s “dummy” label, I chased approval and masked my wounds with humor, achievement, and substance abuse. Yet, the void only deepened. But grace shattered my chains—Jesus healed and delivered me, proving it’s never too late for hope and freedom.

What you'll learn

1.    No Pain Is Wasted: Every hardship, wound, or disappointment becomes the raw material from which God can build something new, meaningful, and strong in your life.

2.    Redemption Is Possible at Any Age: No matter how deep the mistakes or how late the hour, transformation and a new beginning are always within reach.

3.    The Power of Forgiveness: Both the necessity of forgiving others and, most importantly, yourself. Forgiveness unlocks chains that keep you bound to the past.

4.    True Love Endures All Things: From marriage to parenthood, authentic love is forged in grace, patience, and the willingness to stick through the storms, not just the sunshine.

5.    Family and Faith Are Foundations: Even when fragile or flawed, roots in family and faith can anchor and guide you through life’s greatest tests.

6.    Your Story Can Heal Others: Every struggle overcome becomes a roadmap, a light, and a source of hope for someone else.

7.    Release the Labels: Childhood wounds, harsh words, and old lies do not have to define your destiny. You can choose what you carry forward.

8.    Community and Support Are Critical: No one can become an overcomer in a vacuum of isolation. Vulnerability and connection are essential for breaking cycles and building a new life.

9.    Joy Is Possible After Loss: Even after the deepest sorrows including the loss of loved ones and personal dreams God’s grace creates new joy and purpose.

10.                       Legacy Is Found in Love and Service, Not Achievement: Trophies fade, but the impact you have on others through kindness, support, and faith lives on in generations.

Content

Throughout my youth, my father’s voice was both the standard I aspired to and the source of a deep ache. He called me “dummy”—a name that lingered in my heart long after the words were spoken, leaving an indelible wound. The one I yearned to please also became the instrument of my self-doubt and suffering, instilling pain and a sense of inadequacy where there should have been comfort and security. Looking back, I see my father’s intent—to prepare me for the harshness of the world—but his words only cultivated uncertainty. I became driven to earn approval, endlessly seeking affirmation where only faith and love could satisfy. Externally, our family embodied faith and resilience, but privately, the “dummy” label became my relentless companion, propelling me to pursue worth in places that only deepened my wounds. I tried masking my pain through achievement, humor, sheer determination—yet, when these weren’t enough, I turned to substance abuse. Alcohol and drugs became my attempt to fill the void left by unmet needs—a void that grew heavier with shame and a hunger for belonging. But this story is not solely about brokenness. By the grace of Jesus Christ, it is ultimately a testament to healing, deliverance, and new joy. If you carry your own labels or hurts, I invite you to walk with me through this journey of faith, service, and hope. My life’s lowest points did not have the last word; God intervened, rewrote my story, and continues to do so. If you bear the weight of names or wounds from your past, rest assured: grace can still reach you. It's never too late to begin anew.
