Grow lettuce and radishes in this fun 6-week gardening adventure for ages 4–10! Kids will plant, water, observe, hunt for bugs and weeds, track growth, and harvest their own salad garden while learning responsibility, nature skills, and confidence.

Requirements

You will need to print out the pdf.

  • Adult supervision and assistance
  • Lettuce starter plants or seeds
  • Radish starter plants or seeds
  • Potting soil
  • Containers, pots, raised planter, or garden space
  • A sunny location with 4–6 hours of sunlight daily
  • Watering can, spray bottle, or small cup for watering
  • Small gardening shovel or scoop
  • Plant markers, popsicle sticks, or labels
  • Child-safe scissors for trimming leaves
  • Printable course worksheets
  • Crayons, markers, pencils, or pens
  • Paper towels or cleaning wipes for messes
  • Access to water for plant care and cleanup

Optional but fun:

  • Gardening gloves
  • Magnifying glass for bug and leaf exploration
  • Stickers for tracking progress
  • Small basket or bowl for harvesting vegetables
